The Leader of the Front solidarité mauricienne, Cehl Meeah has been given the benefit of the doubt in the Room 216 case which dates back to 16 July 2010. The case was dismissed by the president of the Intermediate Court, Magistrate Véronique Kwok Yin Siong Yen.
Cehl Meaah was accused of kidnapping a 16-year-old girl and bringing her at Victoria Hotel, Pointe-aux- Piments.
The MP pleaded not guilty and was defended by counsel Raouf Gulbul.
In her judgement, Magistrate Kwok indicated that the parents of the young girl was aware that their daughter was with Cehl Meeah in room 216.
